Additional Qualifications
I have been an arbitrator for the American Arbitration Association since 1984 (currently on commercial and large, complex case panel); for FINRA since 1997; and for the mandatory court-annexed arbitration program of the Circuit Court of Cook Court (municipal department since 2000; commercial calendar since 2015). In AAA cases I am usually the sole arbitrator; in FINRA cases I am usually the chair of a three-arbitrator panel.

My cases have involved the interpretation and enforcement of contract terms (including representations and warranties) in transactions involving goods, services, stocks, and assets; shareholder and partnership disputes; disputes between businesses and suppliers, sales representatives/agents, distributors, and customers/clients; fraud claims; employment agreements; disputes over commissions and other forms of compensation; insurance coverage disputes; issues arising from the operation and sale of businesses; disputes over post-closing adjustments to the price in connection with corporate acquisitions; disputes arising from the operation of real estate limited partnerships and related entities; broker/customer disputes; disputes between financial advisors and their clients; the interpretation and enforcement of contracts between firms in the financial services industry and their employees; disputes among entities involved in commodities trading; disputes arising from a property settlement agreement made in connection with a divorce; and a variety of consumer disputes.

In 1999-2000, I resolved, by mediation or arbitration following mediation, approximately 460 policyholder appeals in connection with the Prudential Policyholder Remediation Plan approved by the U. S. District Court of the District of New Jersey in settlement of a nationwide class action and administered by the AAA.

Since 2018 I have been a mediator in the court-annexed small claims mediation programs in the Circuit Court of Lake County, IL and the Circuit Court of Will County, IL.

I am also on the mediation panels for the American Arbitration Association, the International Institute for Conflict Prevention and Resolution (CPR), and FINRA,
