Association of Attorney-Mediators Presents

"A Mediator's Duty to Accommodate Participants with Disabilities: the EEOC's Perspective"

February 24, 2022 at 8:00am CT

Live Online Webinar via Zoom

On February 24, 2022, from 8:00 am CT to 9:00 am CT., the Association of Attorney-Mediators will be presenting a webinar, “A Mediator’s Duty to Accommodate Participants with Disabilities: the EEOC’s Perspective”. Presenters for the webinar will be EEOC Attorney-Mediators Anne Gusewelle and Toria Mroz.

Course Description:

There are two basic ways that disability issues may arise in mediation - first, if the dispute itself involves an EEO claim under Titles I or II of the Americans with Disabilities Act, and second, if a mediation participant requests a reasonable accommodation for participating in the mediation process itself regardless of whether the case being mediated involves an underlying ADA claim. Hear from EEOC attorney mediators from the St. Louis District, who will discuss what legal obligations mediation providers may have to participants in a mediation process who have a disability, how to best provide access to mediation services for persons with disabilities and the types of reasonable accommodations that may be required, and how associated costs should be handled.

Agenda:

8:00-8:05 Welcome and Introduction of Anne Gusewelle and Toria Mroz

8:05-8:50 Presentation

8:50-9:00 Q&A

The session is free for AAM Members and $30 for Non-Members.
